Rich in History
Gold mining at Garnet, Montana goes back
over 145 years. Surface gold was discovered in the gravels
of streams around 1856. Prospectors flocked to the Garnet
area, which at one point supported a population of nearly
4,500 people. Local drainages constituted one of the great
placer strikes in the Montana territory, culminating in the
discovery of rich gold-bearing quartz lodes at Garnet. Over
350,000 ounces of gold had been extracted before mining
ceased during the Great Depression and two world wars.
The property came under the control of
the current owners, the Charlton family, in 1960. Rights to
exploration were purchased in 1989 by Pegasus Gold Company,
which executed a $3.5 million exploration and development
contract including 147 reverse circulation holes, 6 core
holes and 4,110 surface samples. Geochemical analysis,
induced polarization, VLF and air magnetometer surveys were
all conducted. All data from the Pegasus drill program is in
the possession of the Company and is being used for
exploration and resource modeling. The Grant Hartford
Corporation was formed in 2007 and drilling activity resumed
in 2008.

Timeline
| TODAY: |
Grant Hartford is
opening its first mine in 2011 and intends to ship the
mined ore to a local milling facility to begin a cash
flow for the purpose of growing the Company. |
| 2010 |
Grant Hartford
Corporation becomes a publicly reporting company on
January 5th, 2010. Through the year, the Company drills
x holes and completes the engineering and geology
necessary to determine mine feasibility at the Nancy
Hanks and the Willie Mines. |
|
2009 |
The Company enters into a $1m
drilling contract with O'Keefe Drilling to complete 150
reverse circulation holes to expand underground and pit
reserves on Nancy Hanks/Dewey deposits, define the
Willie vein system, and begin definition of Tostman and
Tiger deposits. By the end of 2009, 111 reverse
circulation holes are completed, totaling 31,983
feet |
|
2008 |
The Company retains drilling
services of O'Keefe Drilling of Butte, MT for 2 years of
services on 8 potential drill sites out of 30 targets.
Fifty-four reverse circulation holes are completed,
intercepting high-grade zones, in both Nancy Hanks and
Dewey vein systems. |
|
2007 |
The Grant Hartford Corporation is
formed and enters into an option agreement Commonwealth
Resources LLC, a company controlled by the Charlton
family to acquire mineral rights to 23 patented claims
and 122 unpatented claims staked on 2000 acres managed
by the BLM. |
|
1989 |
A three-year, $3.5 million
exploration and development contract is executed with
Pegasus Gold. After 147 reverse circulation holes, 6
core holes and over 4,000 surface samples, a
proven/probable gold reserve manually calculated to
contain approximately 128,000 ounces of gold was blocked
out in the Nancy Hanks mine. |
| 1987 to 1994 |
Companies controlled by the Charlton
family conducted exploration drilling, trenching,
mapping and shipped 40 thousand tons of tailings to a
custom mill. |
|
1961 to 1969 |
Field Geologist,
Joe Irving conducted research, drilling , trenching and
mapping for 8 field seasons. |
|
1960 |
The Charlton family acquires the
Garnet property and conducts preliminary exploration
surveys. |
|
1912 |
Fire ravages the town of Garnet. |
|
1900's |
Mining operation ceases due to
depressed gold prices, estate issues, two world wars and
the Great Depression. |
|
1880's |
Nearly 4,500 miners inhabit the boom
town of Garnet. Placer (surface) mines produce an
estimated 350,000 ounces of gold. Underground mining
commences, beginning a district yield of approximately
150,000 ounces. Average ore grade: 1 gold ounce/ton. |
|
1865 |
Placer (surface) gold
discovered in the gravel beds in Bear Creek, and later
in a quartz lode in Garnet. |
